The National Cooperative Credit Union (NCCU) has officially launched its 15th anniversary celebrations under the theme “15 Years Strong – Our Community, Our Spirit, Our Commitment.” The media launch highlighted NCCU’s journey since its formation in 2010 through the merger of five credit unions, later expanding in 2017 to become the “Big Seven.” NCCU President, Clement Marcellin reflected on the sacrifices made to achieve amalgamation, paying tribute to the pioneers and urging greater youth involvement. Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Curth Charles described the anniversary as a declaration of resilience and service, underscoring NCCU’s role in providing mortgages, scholarships, loans, and community support. The NCCU anniversary calendar of activities includes a staff video series, community projects, a thanksgiving service on November 1, and recognition of the original Amalgamation Committee. Special promotions such as the Golden Advantage Loan for seniors, Golden Give Back Cashback, and a 15-for-15 retirement savings boost will also be rolled out. Additionally, members can look forward to the return of the Cadence Lypso song competition, school-based art contests, and membership promotions.
