Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit has renewed government’s commitment to tackling violent crime and illegal firearms in Dominica, with support from the Regional Security System. Speaking at a press conference on Monday, the Prime Minister strongly condemned recent acts of violence, stressing that peace and security remain a top priority. Prime Minister Skerrit said government has already strengthened police resources, training, and technology, but emphasized that fighting crime cannot be left to the authorities alone. The Prime Minister confirmed that the RSS is now on island to work alongside the police in eradicating illegal firearms and restoring calm.
