Integrity Commission Marks Anti-Corruption Day, Honours Public Officers and Youth Voices

The Dominica Integrity Commission has joined the global community in marking International Anti-Corruption Day, observed every year on December 9. Activities began on Monday with an Ecumenical Service and Awards Ceremony at the Bethesda Methodist Church, held under the patronage of National Security and Legal Affairs Minister, Rayburn Blackmoore. President Sylvanie Burton presented Compliance Awards to seven long-serving public officers recognized for their consistent adherence to the Integrity in Public Office Act. The Commission also bestowed its Outstanding Service Award on Julian Johnson, the first Chairman of the Integrity Commission, for his distinguished leadership and unwavering commitment to ethical governance. As part of continued observances, the Commission will host a Prize Giving Ceremony in January for students who participated in national essay, painting, and poetry competitions under the theme “Uniting With Youth Against Corruption: Shaping Tomorrow’s Integrity.” The Integrity Commission says the annual observance serves as a strong reminder of the shared responsibility to uphold honesty, justice, and accountability in public life.
