The Youth Development Division has launched its annual Summer Day Camps across Dominica from Monday July 14 to August 15, 2025, offering children a rich mix of educational, cultural, and recreational activities which are all free of charge. The camps will operate in all 21 constituencies, with five locations in the Western District: Mahaut, Salisbury, Colihaut, Dublanc and Kelleb Laurent primary school.
Youth Officer for the Western District, Jade Hill, shared details of the program highlighting the recent training of student volunteers and mentors. Participants were equipped with skills in conflict resolution, classroom management, child engagement, and cultural heritage, including traditional dances and instruments. Other activities will include arts and crafts, environmental projects such as gardening and clean-ups, as well as sports and other fun experiences.
Hill thanked the dedicated mentors, volunteers, and staff for their commitment and wished them a successful summer program.
