The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Blue and Green Economy has announced an early start to Dominica’s 2025/26 white potato season. A shipment of 1,160 bags of seed potatoes featuring the high-performing Desiree and Spunta varieties has arrived on island. The Ministry’s Plant Quarantine Unit will soon begin testing the seeds to ensure they are of high quality and disease-free before sales begin in mid-November. The Ministry is urging farmers to take advantage of this profitable short-cycle crop opportunity to boost local production and income.
