Dry Season Climate Outlook Forum Strengthens Agricultural Preparedness

The Ministry of Agriculture, in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, hosted the Dry Season Climate Outlook Forum in Roseau on December 8th and 9th, 2025. The forum focused on strengthening early warning systems and improving the use of climate information to help farmers and other agricultural stakeholders prepare for the upcoming dry season. Officials from the Ministry, FAO, and the Dominica Meteorological Service emphasized the importance of turning climate data into practical guidance for farmers, fishers, beekeepers, and aquafarmers. The two-day event included technical reviews and the presentation of seasonal advisories, supporting proactive planning, climate resilience, and the protection of livelihoods across Dominica’s agricultural sector.
