As of December 2025, at least 20 healthcare professionals in Saint Lucia have improved their skills in adolescent healthcare through training on the country’s Standards for Quality Healthcare Services for Adolescents. This training, part of the Build Back Equal (BBE) Project, is facilitated by UNFPA and partially funded by the Government of Canada. Officials emphasized that adolescents have unique healthcare needs often overlooked between child and adult services. The training supports Saint Lucia’s long-term goal of establishing a specialist adolescent services center. The BBE Project, a joint initiative by UN Women and UNFPA, seeks to promote gender equality, improve sexual and reproductive health services, and empower women and girls economically. The project runs in Saint Lucia, Dominica, Grenada, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines from 2022 to 2026.
