Agroprocessors Receive Stainless Steel Tables to Boost Food Safety and Production

The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Blue and Green Economy has distributed 73 stainless steel tables to 53 agro-processors under the Dominica Agriculture Emergency Livelihoods and Climate Resilience Project. The handover ceremony took place on Wednesday morning with government officials, World Bank representatives, beneficiaries and the media in attendance. The tables, valued at approximately $268,000, are expected to strengthen food safety, improve production standards, and enhance competitiveness in the agro-processing sector. Parliamentary secretary with special responsibility for agro-processing Lakeyia Joseph, emphasized that agro-processing is vital to the growth of Dominica’s agricultural sector, particularly in transitioning from primary to secondary production.
