Budget consultations begin today in Dominica as the government prepares for the 2025/2026 national budget.
Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit says the Ministry of Finance and Cabinet will be meeting with various stakeholders, including private sector groups and trade unions.
Prime Minister Skerrit noted that proposals have already started coming in, and outcomes from ongoing union negotiations will also help shape the final budget.
The Prime Minister described the budget as “inclusionary” and reaffirmed government’s focus on transformational projects.
These include continued financing for the international airport, a new marina, geothermal development, and major infrastructure works. Plans also include private investment in a new cruise village.
He says the goal is to lay the foundation for a more prosperous Dominica.
