The Government of Dominica, in partnership with the People’s Republic of China, is moving forward with plans to rehabilitate the North Coast Road from Borough Square to Pagua, Hatton Garden. The 36-kilometre project, funded as a grant by China, follows discussions between Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit and Chinese leaders. A Chinese technical team is on the island conducting studies and collecting data to guide the road’s design. Speaking during a recent site visit, Prime Minister Skerrit highlighted the importance of safety along the route, which features numerous bends and blind corners, and stressed the road’s significance for both residents and tourists traveling from the airport to Portsmouth and surrounding areas.
