Dominica’s police force has destroyed a large quantity of illegal drugs, demonstrating the results of their hard work and commitment to keeping the nation’s streets safe. The operation, held earlier today, saw cocaine with a street value of 52 million Eastern Caribbean dollars and cannabis valued at 1.2 million dollars destroyed. These substances were seized during recent police operations and include items disposed of through the courts. Police Chief Lincoln Corbette emphasized that the action sends a strong message to criminals that the force will not back down in the fight against illegal drugs. Minister for National Security, Rayburn Blackmoore, praised the police for their professionalism and transparency. He also highlighted that 348 antiquated firearms and other explosives were recently destroyed as part of CARICOM protocols, strengthening public safety across the island.
