Dominica on Sunday joined countries around the world in observing Remembrance Day, honoring the brave men and women who served and sacrificed during the two World Wars. A solemn ceremony was held at the Cenotaph in Roseau, where government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, uniformed organizations, and citizens gathered to pay their respects. The service included prayers, the laying of wreaths, and a moment of silence in memory of the fallen. President Sylvanie Burton, and President of the Dominica Legion, Lartigue Pascal were among those who laid wreaths at the monument. Remembrance Day, also known as Armistice Day, is traditionally observed on the Sunday closest to November 11, marking the end of World War I in 1918. The day serves as a reminder of the courage and resilience of those who fought for freedom and peace, and of Dominica’s own contribution to the global effort.
