DOMLEC offers support to Jamaica post Hurricane Melissa

A team of local utility workers from the Dominica Electricity services ltd (DOMLEC) is on its way to Jamaica this week to support recovery efforts following the devastation caused by Hurricane Melissa. The five-member crew is being deployed under the CARILEC Caribbean Disaster Assistance Programme, known as CDAP. They will spend the next month on the island assisting with the restoration of power and critical infrastructure. Leading the team is Julie Paul, joined by Earl Matthew, Wilbert Moise, Isaiah Phillip, and Delan John Baptiste. The group will work alongside other regional utilities to help bring electricity back to affected communities. Officials are wishing the team safe travels and are calling for the public to keep them in their thoughts as they carry out this vital mission of support to our Caribbean neighbours.
