The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Blue and Green Economy is joining the global community to celebrate World Food Day 2025 under the theme “Hand in Hand for Better Foods and a Better Future.” A week of activities has been organized to highlight sustainable food systems, youth engagement, and national efforts toward food security. Events began this weekend, and will continue on Wednesday, October 15th, when extension officers will visit schools for educational outreach and the FAO World Food Day Poster and Poem Competition will take place online. The main celebrations happen on Thursday, October 16th, with a national address by the Minister of Agriculture, a student discussion at the Documentation Center, a social media awareness campaign, and a 4-H Clubs Food Expo at the Marigot Youth Center.
