Venezuela’s National Assembly President Jorge Rodríguez has claimed that Washington was warned of a “false flag operation” allegedly planned by extremist elements of the Venezuelan opposition to plant explosives at the U.S. Embassy in Caracas. Rodríguez said the warning was communicated to the United States through three different channels and that a European embassy had also been alerted, though he did not name which one. The White House and State Department have not commented. Venezuela broke diplomatic ties with the U.S. in 2019, when American diplomats left Caracas.
